Before every release, we all became testers

The day before release, everyone tested a different part of the application. I went through the order journey. Developers checked their features. Someone asked whether we had also tested changing the address after a discount had been applied.
There was always some combination we remembered too late.
A tester joined us through IP Partner. We agreed to start with the most important customer journeys and check them consistently before each release. Bugs had descriptions, reproduction steps and priorities.
At the next meeting, I could say what had been checked, what was not working and what risks remained. The release decision became much more concrete.
